Big Ted - An Old Bear Story

I would like to share the Story of Big Ted , a teddy Bear which is now almost 42 years old .
Big Ted was given to me when I was a baby and has been lovingly repaired many many times.

To this day I am not quite sure whether Big Ted is actually a bear or a lamb in disguise.

When I was young cuddly toys got put through the washing machine and soon furs began to fray

So my granny repaired Big Ted best as she could .. he has a lovely hand-stitched leather teddy nose, one arm is very floppy and somehow over the years and many bear repairs later the left leg is somewhat shorter than the right leg.

An old bear story I remember well is when Big Ted's head got decapitated ..it literally came fully off ..and once again granny came to the rescue and stitched it back on .. but now Big Ted can only look to the left..:-)

Today Big Ted sits at the bottom of the bed in an honored place and reminds me of the many times I used to lovingly carry him under my arm, everywhere with me as a 3 year old girl ..
